Inland Revenue Department To Implement Online Tax System

May 28, 2013

As part of its mandate to continue to advance the level of service to its customers and to improve the ease of doing business in Saint Lucia, the Government of Saint Lucia, along with the Inland Revenue Department, is embarking on a major technological undertaking.

One such activity that will impact the Inland Revenue Department is the implementation of an Online Tax Filing System [via the Electronic Governmental Integration Project (EGRIP)] that will be implemented in July 2013.

Officer in charge of the Inland Revenue Department, Adria R. Sonson, explained that this enw system will allow businesses and individuals to perform the following tasks:

  • E-Registration (individuals and businesses would be able to register online and obtain a Tax Identification Number)
  • E-Filing (e.g. the filing of monthly and annual tax returns online)
  • E-Payments (payment of taxes online through the use of credit/debit cards or direct transfers)

The IRD looks forward to providing this 24-hour online tax system with tax registration, declarations and payments able to be conducted from any remote location. No longer will taxpayers need to come into any of the Inland Revenue Department locations to conduct these activities.

The Comptroller,

Inland Revenue Department
